The-Book-of-Mormon.com is a site dedicated to the study and rigorous examination of The Book of Mormon which, along with the Bible and other writings, is considered sacred scripture by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a product of revelation and prophecy, the Book of Mormon has been subjected to 170 years of scrutiny, criticism, and misrepresentations by anti-Mormons, many of whom have never bothered to read the book. Even so, over 100 million copies of The Book of Mormon have been published and distributed worldwide, it has been translated into 93 different languages, and the church has grown from six members in 1830 to 15 million members in 2006. This site is maintained by Mike Sageloff, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a researcher who enjoys correlating science and his religion. Faith may be defined as believing in that which cannot be proven by science, but even so, as Brigham Young once said, "Our religion is simply the truth... It embraces all truth, wherever found, in all the works of God and man that are visible or invisible to mortal eye. " (Discourses of Brigham Young, 2) This site is neither sponsored nor endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . |

DNA and The Book of Mormon: Case Closed?
Critics often claim that DNA studies show that the migrations described in The Book of Mormon could not have happened. Recent discoveries, however, are forcing geneticists and anthropologists to reconsider their theories. More... | ||
Ask the Book of Mormon Answer Guy!If I don't know the answer, I will research it and get an answer for you.All I ask is two things: First, that you submit questions that you really want to know the answer to, and that you not use this service as a soapbox or platform from which to launch attacks on the LDS faith. The second thing I ask is that you not apply a different standard to the Book of Mormon than you would to the Bible. The fact of the matter is, most of the attacks that anti-Mormons level at the Book of Mormon are, if you have read and believe in the Bible, just plain silly . In fact, I've written an article about this very topic, called "The Double Standard." Please don't misunderstand - we believe the Bible is the word of God. We also believe the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Is there controversy surrounding the Book of Mormon? Of course there is, and there always will be, just as controversy will always surround the Bible and the events described therein until Christ comes to this earth again. Anyone who truly seeks the truth should read the Book of Mormon, and then, prayerfully ask God if it is true. So, now that I've gotten that off my chest, here's your opportunity to ask "The Book of Mormon Answer Guy" . Go ahead. You know you want to! : ) Sincerely, Mike Sageloff, The-Book-of-Mormon.com You must remove the (remove-this-part) from the email address before sending! |
